a special session within the
Pacific Symposium on Biocomputing '98
Jan. 5-9, 1998 Maui, Hawaii
Web page: http://psb.stanford.edu
Manuscripts are solicited that deal with the use, as computational units, of biomolecules that occur naturally in living systems or that are manufactured in imitation of such molecules. In many cases these would be DNA molecules, proteins, or RNA molecules. The desired studies for this session may be described as applications of biology and biochemistry to computing and to the broader understanding of naturally occurring and artificial computation. The patterns of research to be reported here require communication and mutual understanding between computer scientists and either molecular biologists or biochemists. Research having a laboratory component is particularly encouraged.
Hard copy submissions should be sent in five copies to:
PSB-98Electronic submissions are welcome. Format requirements for electronic submission are available on the PSB web page or from Russ Altman: altman@smi.stanford.edu. Electronic submissions should be emailed directly to Dr. Altman. If you wish to submit a one page abstract please send it by email in plain ascii text or in Microsoft Word.
