PSB 2025 Travel and Accommodations

PSB takes place during Hawaii's peak travel season; hence, travel and hotel reservations should be made early to ensure availability.

PSB 2025 will be held at the Fairmont Orchid, Kohala Coast, Big Island, Hawaii. The Kona International Airport (KOA) is the nearest airport.

The car rental agencies that PSB has partnered with in past no longer offer reliable group discount programs. Please check with your institution to see if they offer car rental discounts.

Lodging

PSB is held at The Fairmont Orchid.

The PSB room block is sold out and the hotel only has a few high category rooms available. If you are interested in booking a room at the hotel's current rate, please call the hotel directly at 1 (808) 885-2000. PSB is not contracted with any other hotels. The Waikoloa Beach and Waikoloa Village areas are the closest resort areas with hotels and condos to the Fairmont Orchid which is located in the Mauna Lani resort area. We suggest you also check for condo/house rentals.
For reservations under the PSB Group Rate, call: 1 (808) 885-2000 and reference "Pacific Symposium on Biocomputing 2025" or click here to make your reservation online. The PSB group rate is valid January 3-9, 2025. If any part of your reservation is outside of these dates, please call the hotel directly at 1 (808) 885-2000 to make your reservation.

All rates are exclusive of applicable state and local taxes and are subject to availability. The resort fee includes self-parking, unlimited basic Internet access, and other amenities. The PSB hotel block sells out, so make your reservations by November 7, 2024. PSB cannot guarantee the group rate once the room block has sold out. Shortened Reservation Policy: Individual reservations where the original reservation dates have been shortened up to 30 days prior to arrival will be accepted, and the deposit refunded for those rooms for up to two (2) full night’s stay. For reservations shortened within 30 days prior to arrival, individuals will be responsible for 100% of room revenue, per the original reservation, to be billed to the individual credit card on file.

If you are interested in finding a roommate, please email psb.hawaii @ gmail.com with your lodging dates, gender, and other roommate preferences. The PSB coordinator will then put you in touch with other participants who are looking for roommates. Please note that if you plan to share a room at the Fairmont, the reservation must include both guests' names for check-in.

Hotel Parking

Self-parking for one vehicle per room is covered by the resort fee. If attendees choose to use Valet Parking versus the Self-parking included in the resort fee, the charge will be the difference between the Self-parking rate and the Valet Parking rate, applicable for one car daily.

For non-hotel guests, parking is complimentary with validation. Tickets may be validated at the bell desk.

Travel Support

We have been able to offer partial travel support to many PSB attendees in the past, including most authors of accepted full papers who request support and many graduate students. However, please note that no one is guaranteed travel support.
